RE: Cant seem to launch VS- getting "website is not found"
not sure what this is about, but if you dont mind resetting chrome to default settings, that could be the quickest way to fix things,
go here "chrome://settings/" scroll to the bottom, click show advanced settings, then the reset button appears. -
RE: Newest update uses low bitrate for original quality setting.
@JeffMD cant find a healthy seed for this file. actually i cant find ANY episode from this series with a healthy seed. (FYI: I would have been notified if you had included my handle in your post or quoted me) i would have completely missed your reply had i not been wandering around this forum.

RE: Audio: Headphone support on machine
@infected-brain this feature has already been requested (http://community.getvideostream.com/topic/263/route-audio-to-pc-or-android/3) fingers crossed the (small) videostream team get a chance to implement this.
-
RE: Route Audio to PC or Android
@xbiggyl i agree, the localcast implementation of this feature works pretty well, hope the videostream guys put this on the list.

RE: Android app keeps loading movie
@jimmypop is your problem similar to this post (http://community.getvideostream.com/topic/244/android-app-never-finds-videos-from-paired-computer-folders/3) ?
otherwise, any extra-ordinary firewall/security applications on your pc? -
RE: Local File Player
@boto videolan / mpc-hc not good enough? even has subtitles plugins. not to mention is MUCH less of a resource hog than chrome
-
RE: Does Videostream support DTS audio?
@oliver It does indeed, what happens is Videostream will use the ffmpeg library to transcode DTS on-the-fly to a format which the chromecast natively supports, all this happens behind the curtain, just pick your video and off it goes.
-
RE: Keyboard shortcuts and how to change them?
i second this, there needs to be a settings dialog to change keyboard shortcuts

RE: Newest update uses low bitrate for original quality setting.
@JeffMD said:
least I am assuming it did, I got a info box screen and new graphic ads to show for it) itself to 2.15.929.0.
I noticed immediately that the video quality of videos I played dropped with artifact smearing. The thing is, if I open the quality pullup and choose the native resolution of the video (in this case, 720), I get the high bitrate video back.
whats the anime file? if its a torr send me the link, i will try on my system and let you know how it goes.
PS: im not a dev. -
RE: RMVB extension
@italoarcos Yes. It will use ffmpeg to transcode into a format chromecast natively supports.

Increase your Chomecast Performance and banish that dastard Buffering
USING YOUR CHROMECAST WITH AN ETHERNET ADAPTOR
I have recently bought and connected to my Chromecast a USB to LAN Network Adaptor, as detailed here:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromecast/xo_NDh5CZA8This has greatly improved my Videostream casting performance. I can now cast a very VERY large video file (6.4GB/40min) with no issue, thats right, no buffering, nothing! Of course your mileage will vary depending on your network config and also your router's throughput.
The document list ASIX based LAN Adaptors, but I can confirm that the one I had laying around "Realtek 8150 based" work without issue. Its pretty much identical with this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEXIN-USB-2-0-10Mb-100Mbps-IEEE802-3x-Realtek-8125B-Ethernet-Lan-Network-Adapter-/121536537178?hash=item1c4c24625a
(I am not affiliated with this ebay seller, and cannot verify him/her. Please do your own research before making any purchase)
Good Luck!
For the technically savvy, if you have a USB LAN adaptor already lying around and want to know if it will work before gettting a powered OTG cable, have a look here: https://github.com/team-eureka/eureka_linux/tree/master/drivers/net/usb
these are the drivers for USB LAN Adaptors which the chromecast has on its firmware, as you can see there is a file "rtl8150.c" thats the adaptor i use.
(To be accurate, the github link is actually a rooted firmware for the chromecast, but for the purpose of this post it will do.) -
Does Videostream work on Chromebooks?
I understand not all apps on the chrome web store work on chromebooks, I was hoping someone with a chromebook could let me know if videostream works on it.
-
RE: Quick question about playing files from phone
@Vysse no, the videostream tab does not need to be open, as long as chrome is open it will work.
-
RE: autoload external srt subtitle in smae folder
@hopeless yes, auto loading subs is an option in the settings, under "Subtitles" and "Media Library" however this might be premium only. Im not sure.
-
RE: Does videostream support x265?
@hopeless it does, what actually happens is that videostream will use ffmpeg to transcode the video to 264 which is what the chromecast natively supports, this will be evident with your cpu usage increasing noticeably as compared to when you cast a 264 video which is directly streamed without any need to transcode.
